IHSA ~ Marist College Equestrian Team

Crosswinds has been home to the Marist College Equestrian Team since 2007. Marist is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), Zone 3 - Region 3.

The team trains with coach Clare Knapp-Englehart and competes September-May (following the academic calendar) against other IHSA Zone 3 - Region 3 college and university teams including Centenary, Drew, Sarah Lawrence, SUNY New Paltz, Vassar, Stevens Institute of Technology, William Patterson and the United States Military Academy (West Point).

The Red Foxes host Marist's IHSA horse shows at Crosswinds, which is regularly the site chosen for the Zone 3 - Region 3 Finals.

Qualified riders move up to compete in Regional, Zone and National Championships. In 2017, the Marist team was proud to qualify eight riders for Regional Finals in divisions ranging from Walk-Trot to Open Fences.

As a result of the program's success, Marist College Equestrian Team has consistently been invited to compete in the National Tournament of Champions. In December 2016, the Marist team traveled to Ohio University, where they placed eighth out of the top 20 IHSA teams across the country. In November 2017, Marist won the Zone 3 Invitational held at Swan Lake Stables in Pennsylvania.
